My Body in the 35th Week

By now you will have gained between 10.8 and 13 kg. Your health care professional should be able to tell by now how your baby is positioned—upside down, with his head ready to come out first; or "breech," with his bottom ready to come out first.

You may notice that your changing, perhaps swollen, feet necessitate a careful choice of footwear right now. This is also a time when your emotions seem to get the best of you—which is perfectly normal as you approach delivery.

Your baby now weighs 2.5 kg and is 45 cm in length, making it a little bit of a squeeze for him to fit in your body along with your organs. His lungs are developing so that he'll be able to breathe on his own after birth. Although his skull is hardening, his brain won't yet be completely closed over with bone.
